Moalboal

CEBU ISLAND, PHILIPPINES

The tiny sardine is the star for snorkeling off Moalboal.  Not one but literally hundred’s of thousands of them swimming in shimmering schools.  Located only 20 metres offshore the Sardines can be found year-round.  Watching the silvery clouds part as you swim through is spectacular.  Other marine life include plentiful pipefish, sea snakes, sea turtles, moray eels, longfin batfish, clownfish and undulating ribbon jellyfish unlike anything you have ever seen. If you are tired of viewing small fish take the 2.5 hours journey from Moalboal to Oslob to view the world’s largest fish, the Whale Shark.  Although very touristy, snorkeling in Oslob gets you in the water with these magnificent gentle giants.
