Location

Atauro Island is located just off Dili the capital of the little-known country of Timor-Leste.

Getting There

Direct flights land in the capital of Dili from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bali and Darwin.  From there catch a 3-hour ferry to the town of Beloi where most of the island’s accommodation is located.

Land Adventures

The northern shores of Atauro Island are lined with deserted white sands beaches perfect for beach combing.  Overland routes are available but the spine crushing rough roads makes hiring a local outrigger a far more pleasant experience.

Destination Drink

Nothing says island paradise like lounging on a white sand beach enjoying a refreshing green coconut plucked fresh from the palm and hacked open with a machete.
